I wanted a place where I could collect everything related to my “other job” over on SUPERMAN & LOIS. This place will be a one-stop shop for links to the show on DVD and Blu, the SUPERMAN & LOIS comic book that I co-wrote, reviews and interviews about the comic book, my posts going behind the scenes of the episodes I wrote, podcast interviews I’ve done about by time on the show as a writer and commissions I’ve gotten.
Eventually, when someone sees the wisdom of creating action figures based on our show, those will be here too, but alas… to date we have none.

Superman & Lois comic book
This SUPERMAN & LOIS comic was part of a DC miniseries that contained issues centered on the then-active TV shows: BATWOMAN, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, STARGIRL, THE FLASH and then a sixth issue called HERO’S TWILIGHT that teamed many of those heroes in the future.
I co-wrote the SUPERMAN & LOIS issue with fellow S&L writers Jai Jamison and Andrew Wong. And for the art, we got a genuine Superman legend – Tom Grummett! Tom was part of the Post-Crisis Era for over NINE years, which is one of the longest runs on Superman as an artist. During that time he did landmark art for The Death and Return of Superman saga AND co-created Superboy! His work on our issue was inked by the fantastic Norm Rapmund, who should be familiar to Superman fans from his frequent collaborations with artist Dan Jurgens!

Reviews & Interviews
Michael Bailey of the Superman Homepage (which might be the first Superman site I read on the internet EVER) gave our issue 5/5 in Art and Story for all three of our tales. He wrote: “Reading a story where you get to have all of the action of a standard Superman tale and see Lois going all out to get the story and on top of that throw in some amazing Easter eggs and on top of that give them a special way to celebrate their anniversary… I really can’t ask for anything more than that. It’s Superman and Lois as a show in a microcosm.”
We also got the most generous review from Cori McCreery, whom I know to be a massive fan of the Post-Crisis Era of Superman. In a tweet, she said, “This was one of the best Superman comics I’ve read in a long time, and really captured both the feeling of my favorite era and of the show it was spun out of. Great job guys.” The review made me unexpectedly emotional and I’m grateful to Cori for what she said.

405 – “Break the Cycle”
While the show was on the air, I wrote a few posts talking about the genesis of certain episodes and plotlines:
Inside that big Steel reveal on SUPERMAN & LOIS is about how I pitched the big mid-season twist that The Stranger would turn out to be John Henry Irons.
How my first episode of SUPERMAN & LOIS came together and reflected an emotional year is a look at the surprisingly long journey that eventually produced episode 110.
Sometimes you get to work with your heroes while writing about your heroes is about how I got to co-write episode 205 with one of my writing idols, Rina Mimoun. Rina actually had the longest career of anyone in the S&L room and working with her was one of my favorite experiences on the show. I first became a fan of hers on DAWSON’S CREEK and EVERWOOD (where she was showrunner for the final two seasons) and I kept pinching myself that we weren’t just working together, but that she was treating me like a equal and was everything you’d want from someone who’s work made you want to chase this crazy career.

Missing Frames – Celebrating Superman with Juliana James & Adam Mallinger – Having done several podcasts solo, I thought that I didn’t have enough interesting stories left to fill a whole podcast, so I invited my friend and fellow writer, S&L Co-Producer Juliana James to join me for this one.
Superman & Lois Commissions
During the run of the show, Jai Jamison hired artist Kibar to do several commissions representing many of our episodes. The conceit was that they’d be like the comic book cover each of those episodes might have had. Then Jai gifted them to us with trade dress on them like a regular issue. This is the one that was done for “O Mother, Where Art Thou?”
At Comic-Con 2024, I commissioned artist Cat Staggs to draw Tyler Hoechlin flying in the Fleischer suit.
Then at the following SDCC, I commissioned JK Woodward. I was a big fan of the work JK did on STAR TREK: THE MIRROR WAR. He’s a master of likenesses and even if he wasn’t, his style is just so distinctive and cool.
One of my unrealized ideas on the show was a story I pitched that would have involved the Brandon Routh Superman and the Tom Welling Superman. It was a long shot of an idea, but I fell in love with it and am still holding onto it as a possible comic book story. I asked JK to give me a team up between the Tyler and Brandon Supermans and he came back with this glorious piece!
That one blew me away so much that the next time I had a chance to commission JK, I asked him for a piece with an even more personal meaning. My wife Erica Berger is one of the casting directors on THE PITT. (She just won her second Emmy for that job, in fact.) I thought it would be fun to imagine a meeting of our two shows and once again, JK did not disappoint!
