Jerry Ordway was there at the start of the Post-Crisis era as the regular penciller on ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN from the moment the title launched in late 1987. He began as an artist, transitioned to being a writer/artist, and finished up his tenure on the Superman books with writing duties only.

His stint was more or less continuous for over six years by the time he departed the books in ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #500. But that was far from the end of his association with Superman. He’s popped in over the years, most recently as one of the many writers and artists who were a part of THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN 30TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL and THE RETURN OF SUPERMAN 30TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL.
Like Byrne he’s written more Superman stories than he’s drawn, but it’s always a treat to find his name in the credits of any Superman story.
He totals 81 Superman stories as a writer and 64 as an artist.
